VISITOR INFORMATION - RAIN FOREST AERIAL TRAM
HOURS: We open at 6:00 a.m. 365 days a year.
The Rain Forest Tram operates from 6:00 a.m. daily ( Mondays
from 9:00 a.m.). The Main Gate is open every day until 3:30
p.m.
GREAT DAY TRIP! There's lots to see and do
here. The Aerial Tram Ride itself takes 80 minutes. Guided
Nature Walks in small groups are also available, as well as
marked nature trails for hikers. Visitors should plan to spend
at least four hours here, and most come for the day. Passengers
traveling on our minibuses from San Jose should plan on approximately
six hours, including travel each way.

We offer our own morning minibus service from most major hotels
and other convenient points in and around San Jose. During
the high season, we often offer transportation in the afternoons
as well. English-speaking guides accompany all buses. Our
office will make arrangement to suit your convenience. Note:
You can tell us your hotel information when you make your
reservations.
WHAT TO BRING:
Clothing- lightweight, casual clothes, sneakers
(or other comfortable rubber-sole shoes), and rain gear (just
in case).
Equipment (optional, of course) - Camera,
binoculars.
Note about large groups: The Rain Forest
Tram can carry approximately 80 people per hour, yet we can
also accommodate larger groups by staggering arrivals. For
more information about our special programs for groups, please

Located only 50 minutes from San Jose,
the Rain Forest Aerial Tram is the premier ecotourism
park of Costa Rica.
The park is situates in a 450 hectare
(1000 acres) private reserve of virgin tropical forest
that borders Braulio Carrillo National Park.
The visitors have the opportunity to
access the canopy with a pulley system that not harm
any of the surrounding trees and let them pass into
the canopy with a minimum of physical effort, and enjoy
the view for themselves. The tram cars hang from reinforced
steel cables and move along a 1.6 kilometer circuit
through the canopy. There are 20 cars strung 150 feet
apart. Rack holds six people. |

A fifteen-minute introductory video will
be seen explaining the origins of the Rainforest Aerial Tram
and tour expectations.
The visitors will start boarding the individual
gondolas that hold five passengers and one explorer. The 2,600
meter tram ride takes about 80 minutes. On the outbound trip,
gondolas travel through the lower and intermediate levels
of the rain forest. On the way back, the visitors will experience
an exciting trip through the upper levels of the rainforest.

The explores can lead small groups
of visitors on a 45 minute trail walk. After running
from the trails, the visitors can enjoy a Costa Rican
meal at the Rainforest Cafe.
The internal transportation or internal
busses await just steps away for the trip back to
the parking lot.
The Aerial Tramp is a required stop
for any visitor to Costa Rica. Is the fascinating
