Location
Located on the Northwestern shoreline of Costa Rica, Tamarindo
is a charming fishing town of 1,000 inhabitants. The picturesque
region opens a doorway to the romance and serenity of flat
lands, green mountains and rich foliage. Because of the unique
climate, the region boasts a tremendous diversity of terrain
from dense rain forests to airy deciduous forests, towering
active volcanoes to lush sugarcane fields, and thick lagoons
to unburdened beaches. The natural wonders of this region
are so astonishing that, for a moment, you forget the world
you have left behind once you have crossed the threshold into
nature's playground.
Nestled in this haven amidst vibrant bougainvillea and graceful
palms, Cala Luna is a short distance from the brilliant white-sand
beaches or mere minutes from the luxurious foliage of the
jungles. With a domestic airport 10 minutes from the hotel
and an international airport 1 hour away - Liberia Airport
(LIR), Tamarindo is easily accessible although still unscathed
by modernization. The domestic airport in Tamarindo (TNO),
just 10 minutes from Cala Luna, features a paved landing strip
amidst picturesque farm fields. An unpaved dirt road prohibits
mainstream tourists from this clandestine treasure. However,
the one who travels down this undefiled path are richly rewarded.
The Beach - Playa Langosta
Located at the far west end of Tamarindo, Cala Luna is in
the increasingly popular Guanacaste region. A sanctuary from
crowds, Tamarindo is relatively untouched by the relentless
hands of modern society. Featuring some of the most beautiful
and unscathed areas of the country, this region is abundant
with wildlife and sea life. The nearby Playa Langosta, (Langosta
Beach) boasts pure white sand beaches sprinkled with multicoloured
shells. Such romantic scenery beckons visitors to stroll along
its pristine shoreline, enjoy the serenity of the sapphire
waters, or behold a brilliant sunset draping the evening with
a silvery moonlight that dances atop tranquil waters
