Our Villa Lapas Hotel has a biological reservation
of 230 hectares dedicated in its entirety to the naturalistic
tourism of the Tropical.
Rooms
Villa Lapas Hotel counts with 47 rooms all with
terrace, forty of them with two queen size beds and the remaining
seven with king. The capacity of the each room belongs to
two adults and two children or three adults and a child. All
have views to the river, to the swimming pool or the gardens.
Air conditioning and private bathrooms with hot water is also
included for each room.

Butterfly Garden
The butterfly garden has a size of approximately
2200 sq. ft and has the most conspicuous species of the area.
The most important host plants for the butterflies can be
found inside the garden, like Passiflora, Lantana, Heliconia,
Calathes, Lonchocarpus, and Piper.

Activities
Waterfall Tour: The Tarcolitos river
is one of the main attractions of the area. It is a 600 ft
fall and it is located at 5 miles from the hotel. This tour
can be done on a 2.5miles hike or an different route that
include horseback riding 45 minutes and a 15 minutes hike.
The flora and fauna make the tour very interesting
as well as the pools along the river. (Cost no included)
Crocodiles: This tour is done by along
the Grande de Tarcoles River, located at 7 miles from
Villa Lapas. This river is well know for bearing one of the
most important crocodile populations in Costa Rica. Some of
this animals reach more than 4 meters long.
Besides crocodiles, you can also watch the great
diversity in birds of the area, including roseate spoonbills,
woodstorks, pelicans, fregatebirds, and many other species.

Carara National Park: Carara is next
to Villa Lapas Reserve. This park is very important in Costa
Rica because is a transitional zone between the Dry Forest
from the North and the Tropical Rainforest from the South.
It is possible to observe over 350 bird species throughout
the year and many mammal species.
The Park has an extension of about 11000 acres
and comprises secondary and primary forests with lakes and
rivers. The tour is a walk approximately 3 hours long. (cost
no included)
Villa Lapas Trial: The hotel has a private
reserve of over 570 acres an due to its proximity to Carara
National Park, it has a great variety in flora and fauna .
The reserve has three main trails, two of them about 1 mile
long each, and are located on the Tarcolitos River water.
The third is 3.5 miles long, it is located on the mountain,
and has a beautiful views of the Pacific coast.
Horseback Riding: You will be able to
choose between tours to the beach or through the mountains,
with great views of the Pacific Coast, rent your horse at
